Work Sharp - Ceramic Honing Rod Sharpener
Work Sharp Ceramic Honing Rod Sharpener
Work Sharp Ceramic Honing Rod is a ceramic rod for sharpening kitchen knives. The bar has been equipped with guides to ensure a consistent and repeatable sharpening angle, so you don't need special skills to effectively and correctly sharpen a knife. This is a simple and convenient moussaka-type whetstone, will instantly give your kitchen knives factory sharpness.
The Ceramic Honning Rod sharpener will successfully sharpen most kitchen knives:
- chef's knife,
- santoku knife,
- serrated knife,
- filleting and boning knife.
Work Sharp Ceramic Honing Rod is structurally based on a fine-grained ceramic sharpening rod and an ergonomic handle equipped with angle guides.
A fine-grained ceramic bar gently abrades the cutting edge and polishes the blade at the same time. The use of ceramics with this gradation makes blunted knives gain factory sharpness in a short time. The long rod of as much as 23 cm allows you to sharpen kitchen knives of all sizes.
Ceramic rod has very many advantages. Unlike a metal rod, it regenerates knives, sharpens safely and, thanks to the guides, ensures the correct grinding angle every time.
Work Sharp Ceramic Honing Rod differs from traditional moussaka type donkeys. It uses 20° angle guides to help maintain a constant sharpening angle. This reduces the time needed to repair the cutting edge, but also allows those without sharpening experience to sharpen knives properly. Sharpening should be carried out on a table or countertop in a vertical position resting on a rubber tip or horizontally resting on angle guides. Rubber tip and side guides allow for stability during sharpening.
In the shank of the whetstone there is a hole, thanks to which we can hang the sharpener so that it is always in the right place when we need it.
The rod shank has an additional Microforge sharpening port. This port is used to create a micro ball on the blade for easy slicing of vegetables, fruits, breads and steaks. Knives with a Microforge blade retain their sharpness for a very long time while cutting much more aggressively, which is why they are a frequent choice of cooks and chefs.
