Kydex

Kydex is a thermoplastic, highly durable plastic patented in the US, which can be used to make a durable and customized scabbard for your own knife with relative ease. A special foam is used to form kydex (sponge) resistant to high temperatures and not permanently deformed despite repeated use. The kydex scabbard is worth having with mounting holes finished with a special metal eyelet. Eyelets for kydex sheaths can be cupped mechanically using a simple mesh crimper or using special mesh presses. A kydex scabbard can be attached to a leather or kudex loop. The fixing of these elements is usually done with rivets or "Chicago" bolts.
