Horn

Reindeer antlers, elk antler or ebony black buffalo horn is a classic addition to the knife handle. The antler spacer gives the handle a unique look and enhances the character of the knife. Reindeer antler has been used for centuries in the production of Scandinavian knives, it is hard, usually close to an oval in cross-section, and the longer antler fragments are often straight enough to manage to make a uniform handle from them. Elk antler is, on the other hand, very hard and has a more compact structure inside. Elk antler, when sanded, also has a uniform white color which will be appreciated by knifemakers looking for a natural, noble knife handle material.
