Nordic Knife Design - Wharncliffe 80 Head
Nordic Knife Design - Wharncliffe 80 Head
After leaving as co-owner of Bris, Dennis Holmbacka founded Nordic Knife Design. Founded by a knife industry veteran as a designer and trader, NKD may be a new name, but behind it lies decades of experience. NKD knives are often minimalist in detail and have an elegant design, features that many would call traditional Scandinavian design. Form follows function. NKD uses the best factories used by many other top brands. With these blades, there is no question of quality issues.
The NKD Wharncliffe 80 is equipped with a "sheep's foot" blade profile. The blade is very well suited for all difficult carving and cutting tasks. Thanks to the thin tip, the blade is able to make precise cuts, making pull cuts particularly easy.
The head is made of made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel with chemical composition optimized for high quality for professional knife applications. The chemical composition provides a unique combination of properties, including:
- Excellent edge performance
- Very high hardness
- Good corrosion resistance
Sandvik 14C28N is mainly recommended for knife applications that place very high demands on sharpness, edge stability and corrosion resistance.
This blade can be easily bound with wooden covers connected by Corby screws.
The head has mounting holes to fit Corby type screws (4.6 mm) or ordinary metal rods, and a hole for a cord.
