Helle Mandra 620
Helle Mândra is a neck knife, designed in collaboration with Les Stroud. He is known from the television show Survivor Man. The Mândra prototype was tested by Les Stroud in Romania while recording his TV show. On the spot, the project was amended based on his feedback. Mândra is named after the mountain peak in Romania where Les Stroud was found while recording the program. Mândra means proud. A fitting name, as Helle can be very proud of the results of this successful collaboration with Les Stroud.
The neck knife fits great in the hand and is ideal for survival and bushcraft applications. The handle is made of delightful birch wood. The handle has been hand shaped, polished and oiled to give it a unique character. Blade shank seamlessly connects to the handle. This is clearly evident by looking at the back of the handle. The blade is made of a core of hard stainless steel, laminated between two layers of 18/8 stainless steel. This core has a razor-sharp edge and is easy to sharpen.
Handle was made of beautiful karelian birch, which has been subjected to hand shaping, polishing and oiling which gives it a unique character. The shape of the handle was thoughtfully designed to make the knife suitable for for prolonged and comfortable work. At the end of the handle there is a hole for attaching a cord to prevent loss.
The product is packaged in an elegant tube so it's perfect for a gift. For each knife, a cloth with the Helle Norway logo is included inside the package.
