The main active ingredient is capsaicin oleoresin (OC), which, on contact with the attacker, almost immediately causes intense burning of the skin, watery eyes, coughing and breathing problems. These symptoms lead to temporary disorientation, reduced perceptual abilities and inability to take coordinated actions. The effects last up to 45 minutes, allowing you to get away safely and call for help.

The gas also has an effect on those under the influence alcohol, drugs and other psychoactive substances.
