Trangia Materials and Technologies Guide
- UL Ultralight - Ultralight aluminum is a lightweight material with excellent thermal conductivity. Ultralight (UL) alloy, also called 5005, is 50% stronger than "ordinary" aluminum (alloy 1050). This means the pots can be thinner, making your stove lighter without sacrificing durability or functionality. UL suits many users who want a simple, functional and durable stove.
- HA Hard Anodized - Hardened (anodized) aluminum has a surface treatment that makes the aluminum hard and scratch-resistant. It has a matte gray finish. The treatment protects against wear and corrosion and makes HA aluminum slightly easier to clean than Ultralight. Weight is the same as equivalent products in UL, as HA treatment is absorbed by the material.
- NS Non stick - It is mainly used in pans, but is also available in saucepans. The non-stick pots and pans are made of Ultralight and have a coating that food won't stick to - even when using a small amount of oil or butter. It also means that they are very easy to clean. However, it is less durable and we recommend using only wooden or plastic utensils for these pots and pans. Trangia's non-stick coating is PTFE, which does not contain PFOA.
- DS Duossal 2.0™, unique to Trangia, is made of aluminum and stainless steel that have been laminated under extreme pressure. Optimal combination in which the aluminum outer layer has excellent heat conduction properties and the stainless steel inner layer makes the pot durable and easy to clean. The material is 0.8 mm thick, of which 0.3 mm is stainless steel; these are sturdy pots for real outdoor cooking.
