Spyderco Edgerati Gray Aluminum, Satin CPM S30V Folding Knife by Sal Glesser (C266ALP)
- Edgerati Gray Aluminum, Satin is a modern premium folding knife designed by Sal Glesser. Openwork aerospace aluminum handle and CPM S30V head combine technical precision with unique motorsport-inspired aesthetics.
Edgerati Gray Aluminum, Satin is one of the most technically advanced projects Spyderco, developed by the Glesser Hall - Co-founder of the brand and pioneer in EDC knife ergonomics. The design was inspired by the frame "birdcage" known for its racing models Maserati, which combines rigidity with low weight - the same assumptions were carried over to the premium folding knife. Handle has been precisely milled from aircraft aluminum, and then subjected to anodizing. Its openwork structure not only catches the eye with its engineering aesthetics, but also lowers the weight, improves balance and increases wearing comfort. The open design allows you to see into the workings of the mechanism, giving the knife a mechanical character known for the best technical designs. The head is made of CPM S30V steel, known for excellent focus retention, corrosion resistance and predictable behavior in daily operations. Grind full flat and finishing satin ensure smooth cutting and unobtrusive appearance. Round Hole™ and choil enable comfortable and safe operation, regardless of conditions. Edgerati is eDC knife, which combines functionality, advanced materials and premium aesthetics. This model will satisfy both lovers of modern design and users who value uncompromising quality and ergonomics.
CPM S30V - one of the best knife steel, corrosion resistant, mechanical stress resistant American martensitic powder steel CPM S30V with added carbon, chromium and vanadium with hardness 58-59 HRC. Developed by Dick Barber z Crucible Industries in collaboration with knife maker Chris Reeve, so as to offer the best combination of strength, abrasion and corrosion resistance. Produced by US Crucible Industries in accordance with the process Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM). Process CPM yields a very homogeneous, high-quality steel characterized by excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The alloy includes 1.45% carbon (C) and a significant admixture of vanadium carbides 4.0% (V) and chromium 10.5% (Cr). Thanks to its properties, it holds sharpness for a very long time and provides high corrosion resistance.
Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) patented by the company Spyderco (Made in USA) head locking mechanism. Extremely durable, provides extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the handle, it protects the knife from inadvertent closure. When releasing the lock, fingers are not in the path of the folding head.
Head - made of cPM S30V powder steel, appreciated for stable cutting edge, high wear resistance and easy maintenance in daily use. The profile of the wedge with a straight back and a subtle belly provides a versatility - From precision work to utility cuts requiring inspection. Applied grind full flat enables effective cutting at low resistance, while facilitating sharpening. Satin finish gives the head elegant, technical design, which masks well the traces of use. In addition, clearly marked choil under the index finger allows you to move your grip forward, increasing precision for tasks that require accuracy. Hole Trademark Round Hole™ is not only a trademark of Spyderco - it's a functional element, allowing you to quick, intuitive opening of the knife with one hand. The whole is a harmonious combination of function and form, perfectly in line with the philosophy of premium EDC knives.
Handle - z anodized aircraft-grade aluminum, that combine lightness with resilience to damage and atmospheric factors. Openwork structure, inspired by sports car racing frame designs, allows for mass reduction, while improving traction i hand cooling during intensive work. Precision CNC milling ensures perfect fit of all components and emphasizes technicality project. Open design exposes the operation of the mechanism Compression Lock®, which is integrated in a maximally simplified and functional way. The ergonomic profile of the handle fits well in both bare and gloved hands, offering a stability and control regardless of grip. The whole is complemented by clip tip-up type with the possibility of mounting on the left or right side, allowing for discreet and comfortable to wear. Edgerati's handle is a testament to the following utility engineering can go hand in hand with design - lightweight, rigid, detail-oriented, and ready for daily operations.

List of knife safety warnings based on requirements
Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety
(GPSR):
* Risk of injury: Use the knife carefully and always hold it by the handle. The blade is
very sharp and can cause serious cuts. Don't try to catch a falling
knife.
* Safe storage: the knife should be stored in a safe
place, out of reach of children and unauthorized persons. Use a blade guard if
is available.
* Use as intended: Do not use the knife for purposes for which it is not
intended, for example, for opening cans or loosening screws. This can lead to
knife damage or injury.
* Caution when cleaning: Use caution when cleaning the knife,
to avoid cuts. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents that can
damage the blade.
* Blade maintenance: Sharpen the blades regularly to keep them in good condition. Blunt
knives are more dangerous than sharp ones because they require more force, which
increases the risk of slipping.
* Transporting the knife: When transporting the knife, make sure the blade is secured,
for example, by using a vagina or sheath. This prevents accidental injuries.
* Keep your knife clean: Clean the knife regularly to remove any food debris
or other contaminants. This ensures safe and hygienic use.
* Do not modify the knife: Do not try to modify the knife or repair it yourself,
if you don't have the right skills. This can lead to damage to the knife
or injuries.
* Warning for children: knives are intended for adults only. Do not allow
children to use knives without supervision.
* Disposal: Dispose of used or damaged knives in a safe manner to
prevent accidental cuts.
This product is for adults only, who have knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can lead to serious injury. The blade of the knife is very sharp and can quickly cut through skin and tissues; so always be very careful when slicing and do not bring your hand close to the cutting edge. To avoid slipping of the knife, it is recommended to cut on a stable and non-slip surface and avoid excessive pressure, which can cause uncontrolled movement of the blade.
Be aware that leaving a knife on the edge of a table, countertop or in easy-to-reach places, especially for children, is a danger. The knife should always be properly secured after finishing work, preferably by putting it down on a stable surface or storing it in specially designed blocks, sheaths or on magnetic strips. Never use a knife for tasks for which it is not intended, such as opening cans or using it as a lever, as this risks both damage to the tool and dangerous accidents.
Blunt blades pose an increased risk of injury because they require more force and tend to slip off the material being cut. Therefore, care should be taken to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. It is also necessary to clean and dry the tool regularly to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. It is recommended to periodically inspect the condition of the handle and blade to detect any cracks, chipping or loosening. If damage is found, the knife should be immediately repaired or replaced with a new copy.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand, avoid talking on the phone or watching TV while slicing, and make sure your work area is well-lit. You are reminded that in some countries or regions there are laws restricting the possession and carrying of knives. Before buying or using a knife, it's a good idea to make sure that using it in your location is allowed under the current law.
Adherence to the above rules will enable safe and efficient use of the knife, minimizing the risk of accidents and ensuring the long life of the tool.
