Slipit - the most common non-blocking mechanism used in folders. Uses an improved notchet-joint spring mechanism to keep the blade open during use. When folding, the notches generate a smooth resistance as in a knife equipped with a traditional locking mechanism. Slipit folders also feature a (finger groove) undercut for the index finger between the handle and the cutting edge to prevent accidental closing of the blade.
