Really nothing extraordinary, but just what you need id the side pocket of the backpack. The zipper is covered to provide additional water resistance and protection against abrasion and dirt. A vertical strap on the front keeps the backpack's compression straps in place over the bag, also allowing them to properly compress the pannier. They can also be used as attachment points for bungee cords, carabiners and similar things.
A 25mm wide webbing loop and D-shaped ring at the top of the rear inner panel allow you to secure small and important items, while a flat back compartment provides basic organization for smaller items. Bottom section lined with 210D polyamide for extra abrasion resistance. The grommet provides drainage of water that may enter the pouch.
PALS assembly
On the back there is a standard PALS fastening system with tabs. The most central horizontal rows of webbing were eliminated because they didn't really do anything except increase the weight. We are not a manufacturer of ultralight equipment, but even we do not like unnecessary weight.
Two vertical fastening straps leave approx. the 9 cm wide gap between them allows you to carry things like axes, fishing rods, etc. tucked behind the cargo hold.
Optimal attachment requires a width of four channels and a height of seven (min. six) rows of PALS tape. Your side compression straps, when tightened, will eliminate any movement of the pouch and its contents.
From the Savotta range, the 8L side pocket is recommended for the Jääkäri XL only. Although not recommended, it can be attached to smaller backpacks with an absolute minimum of five rows of PALS webbing on the sides (for example, Jääkäri M and L). To do this, you need to attach the loader one step higher and accept the fact that the bottom will be a little loose.

With a capacity of eight liters, this is clearly a larger side pocket, perhaps best used in large and tall backpacks with a capacity of 60-100+ liters. Here are some examples of what you can fit into one of them:
