The Jääkäri M is an original, incredibly durable backpack made by Savotta, a Finnish company specializing in the production of m.in for the Finnish army.

Jääkäri family medium-sized backpack, capacity approx. 30 liters. The Jääkäri M is an improved model of the Light Border Patrol backpack, originally designed for the Finnish Border Patrol. Sleek design provides free movement in tight spaces and difficult terrain. PALS attachment strap gives you plenty of options for attaching additional cargo and gear to the outside of the backpack.

An inner plastic frame sheet increases the backpack's rigidity, and compression straps help cinch the load into a tight package. As part of the Border Patrol's heritage, the shoulder straps, waist belt and back padding are designed to provide more comfortable weight carrying than most backpacks of this size.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

A drawstring collar and floating lid close the main compartment of the backpack at the top. Full-length side zipper provides quick access to smaller items stored in the main compartment. Zippered pocket in the lid provides secure storage for wallet, keys, travel documents and phone.

A floating flap and side compression straps provide a wide range of adjustment according to volume luggage. Fasten it tightly or loosen it depending on the load being carried. Compression straps allow additional equipment to be attached to the outside of the backpack if necessary. External side pockets on the bottom can be used to attach tools, tripods, etc. Pinned to the sides of the backpack.

Hydration chamber is attached to the inner rear wall. Grommets on both sides allow hydration tubing to be routed to the left or right, leaving the second port free for other uses such as antennas or cables.

PALS webbing on the waist belt, sides, and lid of the backpack allow for attachment of additional cargo and gear. This system offers numerous options to configure the package to fit your specific needs. Not only for loaders, PALS webbing can also be used to attach tool belts, shock cord, carabiners, etc. Four loops at the bottom can be used to attach tool belts.

MILITARY GRADE MATERIALS

Most of the materials we use in our commercial production are the same materials that we use in equipment for the Finnish Armed Forces and other defense and security customers. Our most commonly used fabric in cargo handling equipment is extremely abrasion resistant Cordura 1000D, according to FDF specifications, with polyurethane coating on the inside. The webbing and edge tapes we use are, again according to FDF specifications, strong polyester tapes in various widths and thicknesses for different applications.

Our green and M05 camouflage materials and accessories comply by default with the FDF's strict specifications for NIR reflectivity levels, which should be, since the same materials are used in official military equipment.

HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE CARRYING SYSTEM

The Jääkäri M has an internal plastic frame that provides the necessary rigidity to stay upright when loaded with awkward and bulky equipment.

Harness and waist belt are solidly padded with closed-cell foam. Shoulder straps are S-shaped and include a removable chest strap.

Hip belt and harness are anatomically designed. The hip belt can be tightened in both directions and has a wide range of adjustment, making it suitable for all body types and sizes. Chest strap for greater stability. At the top of the backpack is a carrying handle.

Hip belt can be removed from the frame and used as a stand-alone equipment belt. With the appropriate pouches attached, it can be used instead of or in conjunction with a small backpack.

IN THE SERVICE OF THE BORDER GUARDS

In the early 1990s. savotta's compact hiking backpack, called simply "608," was chosen as the starting point for the design of a new backpack for the Finnish Border Guard. This evolved into the "Kevyt Rajapartio" or Lightweight Border Patrol, a very modern backpack for its time: slim fit for mobility, side zipper, compression straps, and rifle attachment. First of all, it had a very sturdy carrying system and an aluminum-reinforced frame - something rarely seen in packs of this size.

This venerable design was chosen in 2013 as the basis for the development of what became the Jääkäri M, the first of Savott's modern range of backpacks with military-grade design and functionality. The project turned out to be a real hit, and Jääkäri M was followed by its siblings Jääkäri S, L and XL.
