Preparation for use
- Pour hot water over the pan and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse and wipe dry.
- After cleaning, spread a thin layer of vegetable oil, such as rapeseed oil, over the entire surface. Heat to temp. 140-180º C
- Heat the pan on a gas burner, grill or open flame to temp. 140-180º C.
- Peel potatoes and cut into thin slices. Put the potatoes in a pan and fry them.
- Repeat frying 4 times. During this time the pan will be covered with a natural patina.
- Pour out the oil, wipe the pan dry with a towel. Frying pan ready to use.
Cleaning
- Clean best and easiest immediately after use, while the pan is still warm.
- Remove excess fat remaining after cooking from the pan.
- Pour water into the pan and bring to a boil. Remove residue with spatula and paper towel.
- Dry.
Storage
- Dry the pan and protect it by rubbing a thin layer of oil on the surface.
- Store in a dry place.
- If rust appears after long-term storage of an improperly protected pan, remove the rust with steel wool or a cleaner, wash the pan, dry it and protect it with oil. Repeat the patination before the next use.
