Nordic Knife Design - Timber 85 Satin Head
After leaving as co-owner of Bris, Dennis Holmbacka founded Nordic Knife Design. Founded by a knife industry veteran as a designer and trader, NKD may be a new name, but behind it lies decades of experience. NKD knives are often minimalist in detail and have an elegant design, features that many would call traditional Scandinavian design. Form follows function. NKD uses the best factories used by many other top brands. With these blades, there is no question of quality issues.
Timber 95 made of 80CrV2 carbon steel, is an excellent modern pukko blade, ideal for making knives for woodworking, planing and carving, as well as handy EDC knives. The sides of the knives are finished by satin-finishing, making the knife look more modern.
Knife blade specially designed for woodworking. The slightly drooping back of the knife blade meets the cutting edge at a fine, sharp point for precise woodworking. Sharpening angle increases toward the tip to 23 to 28 degrees for better tip support and strength. The blade of the knife is made of German ThyssenKrupp 80CrV2 carbon steel. The steel, which has long been used in traditional Finnish puukko. Addition of V, vanadium in steel improves strength and edge retention. Blade base up to 25 mm high along with the curved drop-point shape allows for a wide range of handle design options.
