After leaving as co-owner of Bris, Dennis Holmbacka founded Nordic Knife Design. Founded by a knife industry veteran as a designer and trader, NKD may be a new name, but behind it lies decades of experience. Timber 95 is made of carbon steel 80CrV2 is an excellent modern pukko blade, ideal for making knives for woodworking, planing and carving, as well as handy EDC knives.
The tip is very pointed and relatively short, so you get excellent control even during more detailed carving work.
The black color of the sides of the blade is an effect achieved by hardening in an open furnace. The technique fuses a mixture of burned oil and other materials together with the steel and acts as additional protection against rust.
