Instructions for use and maintenance
- Clean the waffle iron with mild detergent and warm water. Dry completely.
- Grease the cast iron sides of the waffle iron with Muurikka Silava frying fat or cooking oil. Don't use butter.
- Place the waffle iron over an open flame for about 15 minutes. Take it out and wipe the inside. Repeat the process of coating it with Muurikka Silava frying fat or cooking oil. Put the waffle iron back on the heat. After heating it a second time, take it and let it cool down.
- If necessary, you can repeat the fat treatment. Always use fat for cooking.
- Always clean the toaster after use, dry it completely. Lightly grease the iron frying side with edible oil or Muurikka Silava frying fat.
- Clean, dry, and lubricate the waffle iron before storing it for a long time by heating it with Muurikka Silava frying fat or cooking oil (heating removes moisture and Muurikka Silava prevents rusting).
- Store in a dry place
