KUR G10 Brown / Black Blade, lightweight, handy and durable folder E.D.C. italian manufactory LionSteel. Winner of the prestigious knife of the year award Overall Knife of The Year magazine Blade at the Blade Show.
Design by Molletta, designed by a well-known and respected Italian designer with many years of experience. Michele Pensato (ps. Molletta), is distinguished by a new approach to the use of materials and experiments in the application of heat treatment and the use of advanced software in the design of knives.
Sleipner - chrome-molybdenum-vanadium, high-alloy universal tool steel with high wear and chipping resistance. Achieves high hardness 60-61 HRC. Manufactured at Swedish steel plant Uddeholm.
PVD + Stone Washed - the durability of the surface of the wedge and the cutting edge has been increased by the method of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) by depositing thin films from the gas phase and subjected to a fine scratch-masking finish Stone Washed. The applied coating has a very high hardness, which significantly increases the resistance of the blade to abrasive wear.
Head - about the profile Drop Point with marked belly provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Plain blade Plain brought out full flat grind (Flat Grind), which perfectly presents a matte black finish PVD + Stone Washed.
ReF - (Removable Flipper System) located on the underside of the head projection / flipper supported by IKBS facilitates the opening of the wedge. It consists of a small lever, protruding from the back of the handle when the head is closed. In the open position it serves as a lower guard one-sided hilt protecting the hand from slipping off the handle. In the folder YEAR it is possible to unscrew the flipper (Removable Flipper System), unscrew the flipper fin, and then insert the second screw located in the box) to open the head with both hands. This is important in countries where there is a ban on the use of knives with one-handed blades in public places.
IKBS - (ball bearing system) allows fast, smooth opening of the wedge.
Handle - steel liners along with machined in 3D, plastic facings G10 in brown was attached to the spacer (cladding connector / tzw. backspacer) z solid titanium 6AI4V. Compact right-hand deep-pocket wire clip, allows you to carry the knife deep in your pocket (discreetly) in a tip-up position tip-up (tip up). Exposed steel head with lanyard hole, hole for the rope can be used as a hammera or glass breaker.
