The skeleton and all tools are made of high-quality stainless steel, which has been professionally heat-treated, so that each component has a hardness optimally suited to its function. Handle facings are 6061-T6 aluminum covered with hard anodization with high scratch resistance. The lack of sharp edges and the matte texture of black anodized aluminum provide comfort and confidence in handling the pliers.
Smooth knife blade, serrated knife blade, saw and file can be opened without disassembling the combiner. Thanks to the thumb holes, the knife blades can be opened in no time with one hand. The 4 tools listed are locked with individual liner-lock type locks liner-lock, others work with two ratchet locks similar to the system back-lock.
Noteworthy is the smooth knife blade, which is made of high-grade, dull-resistant 154CM stainless steel, which is virtually unheard of in typical multitools. The use of such good steel, combined with the ability to open with one hand, makes the Leatherman Charge a viable alternative to the classic folding knife.
Screwdriver sockets together with a set of double-sided bits of various types allow a wide range of assembly work and repair a variety of equipment.
