Fenix BC25R LED bicycle flashlight
Fenix BC25R is a lightweight bicycle flashlight with a beam of 600 lumens and a range of 106 m, specifically designed to operate in an urban environment.
Construction
The compact body of the flashlight is made of anodized aluminum, which allows for proper heat dissipation and provides protection from rain and dust (IP66 rating). Thanks to its small size, light weight, and quick release function from the handle, the Fenix BC25R can also be used as a standard handheld flashlight. The aforementioned bike mount has an instant flashlight release feature. To do this, all you have to do is press the locking lever and slide the lamp out of the clamp.
Optical system
In the flashlight Fenix BC25R used cREE XP-G3 diode emitting maximum light output of 600 lumens with a range of 106 m. The light has a neutral color, does not tire the eyes, provides accurate color rendering and the ability to recognize more details in night vision conditions. Unlike standard bicycle flashlights, the optical system is designed in such a way as not to dazzle other traffic users. The specially designed reflector (orange peel) has an innovative cut-off line that blocks the upper part of the light beam. As a result the flashlight only illuminates the path through the wheel up to handlebar height, without adversely affecting the vision of drivers and pedestrians. The maximum range of light is 106 m, which in urban conditions provides excellent visibility and the ability to react early to the traffic situation. Power supply The power source is built-in Li-ion battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh, which, when charged, provides 2 hours of operation in maximum mode 600 lumens and 36 hours in low mode 50 lumens. The battery is charged via a micro USB port, so we don't have to worry about buying a charger and spare batteries. We can control the level of battery charge thanks to the LED indicator, which informs us in a simple and clear way about the state of energy.
Status of the battery level indicator:
- one diode: critical level 0-25%
- two LEDs: low level 26-50%
- three LEDs: average level 51-85%
- four LEDs: high level 86-100%
Modes of operation and handling
Fenix BC25R offers 4 continuous light modes: low→medium→high→turbo and flash light. One large button is used to turn on/off and change brightness, which also activates the battery level indicator. Simple and intuitive operation is an undoubted advantage for any cyclist, especially in urban areas with heavy traffic.
Additional features
Flashlight remembers last used brightness level. When you turn it on again, the flashlight automatically activates in this mode (memory function). Low battery warning is activated automatically when the defined voltage level drops (flashing battery level indicator LED). The flashlight also has protection against overheating in turbo mode. In order to lower the temperature, the controller reduces the brightness by a few lumens, which allows you to turn the turbo mode back on.
Assembly
The set includes sturdy handlebar mount for bicycle handlebars and two spacers to prevent the flashlight from twisting. Assembly is very simple and is limited to tightening one steel screw.
