BSI - Quick-Cure 5 Minute epoxy glue 128g
BSI - Epoxy glue - Quick-Cure 5 Minute epoxy resin 128g
A two-component epoxy adhesive that forms high-strength bonds through a chemical reaction between resin and hardener. Cured epoxy resin is resistant to most chemicals. Fast cure 5 min. Epoxy resin cures to a slightly elastic consistency. This lack of brittleness allows it to form a permanent bond in areas subject to strong vibrations or stresses. Quik-Cure should not be used in areas exposed to prolonged immersion in water. Quik-Cure is the only epoxy resin from BSI that can be overlaid with polyester resins. Items joined with Quik-Cure can be moved after 15 minutes. Reaches full power after 1 hour.
Quik-Cure is BSI's least temperature-sensitive epoxy. It will harden at temperatures up to 4˚C. Temperatures above 32˚C reduce the working time before the epoxy resin begins to set from 5 to less than 4 minutes. Quik-Cure bonds best to clean, textured surfaces. Sand smooth, non-porous surfaces with coarse sandpaper to improve adhesion. Acetone and isopropyl alcohol are the best solvents for cleaning uncured epoxy resin from surfaces, as well as preparation before bonding. Quik-Cures lack of brittleness allows it to form permanent bonds on materials as diverse as balsa wood and glass; however, it is not recommended for areas subject to prolonged immersion in water.
BSI epoxies are among the best adhesives for use in knife handles. The consistency is relatively runny, which makes it easier to spread, especially when pouring the glue into the pin hole in the handle of a Nordic-style knife. For an even thinner consistency, you can heat the glue with a heat gun before application. Note the shorter curing time if heated.
