George Washington Sears (December 2, 1821. - may 1, 1890.) was a journalist for Forest and Stream magazine in the 1980s. XIX century. In his stories, published under the pseudonym "Nessmuk," he popularized kayaking expeditions in lightweight solo canoes and what is now called ultralight camping. Nessmuk was the forerunner of what the terms bushcraft and outdoor now convey.
The knife refers to the classic design of the trapper knife designed by Nessmuk. Nessmuk knife is practical, durable and convenient for both camp work and food preparation.
The head of the Nessmuk is made of carbon steel with a thickness of 3.5 mm. The head has a Scandinavian cut, so the knife combines very high strength and sharpness. Carbon steel, on the other hand, guarantees the knife's hardness and high resistance to dulling.
The handle of the knife is made of durable black micarta enriched with red fiber spacers. This makes the knife look very elegant and unique. The handle is finished very precisely, and its profile makes the knife very comfortable in the hand and ensures ergonomics of work.
The knife comes with a a scabbard made of thick cowhide leather specially designed for this knife. The scabbard is sewn and additionally reinforced with rivets. Classic belt loop allows you to comfortably carry the knife loosely on your belt.

Sharpening and maintenance. Don't make the tool too dull. Sharpen your knife on dedicated whetstones and sharpeners. Your tool should be cleaned, dried and oiled regularly. Especially after use in humid environments.
