The Benchmade 560BK-1 Freek is a popular knife model that for the first time is made of two extremely durable materials, legendary CPM-M4 steel and G10 laminate.
Head with hardness as high as 62-64 HRC
The Benchmade 560BK Freek has a head of drop-point type with a perfectly matched usable length of 91 mm. The blade of the high flat grind has been protected against external factors hard ceramic coating Cerakote, characterized by very high resistance to abrasion and scratching.
The new 560BK model has a a blade made of high-carbon CPM-M4 tool steel hardened to hardness as high as 62-64 HRC. Thanks to the high content of molybdenum, vanadium and tungsten, the high level of carbon has been balanced, resulting in excellent sharpness retention and tremendous hardness.
Sharpening such steel is difficult and time-consuming, and regular care of the blade must also be remembered. In return, however, the user gets a tool whose aggressive cutting and extremely long maintenance of working sharpness perfectly compensate for the mentioned inconveniences.
Reliable mechanisms and stylish finish
Double-sided pin allows one-handed right- and left-handed people to quickly unfold the blade. The lock used is of course Axis-lock, invariably regarded as one of the strongest and most convenient mechanisms used in folding knives.
Ramp located on the back of the blade creates a secure support for the thumb when operating the knife. Profiled facings are made of black and gray G10 laminate, which has been milled to increase grip and grip security.
The uniqueness of this model is emphasized by red insoles (liners) and maintained in the same color scheme polished spacers. A steel clip is attached to the handle, which can be switched to the other side (left/right).
