The Benchmade Shootout is an automatic knife of the type Double Action OTF. Which means that both the process of ejecting and retracting the blade is done automatically. Thanks to this functionality, the knife can be easily and quickly disassembled under stress also with a "weak hand". The blade is unfolded by moving the massive slider forward, folding only requires moving the slider back in the opposite direction.

The Benchmade 5371FE Shootout is a tactical-style knife accented by a tanto blade and handle with a discreet black color scheme. The knife uses a drop point blade - a profile with very good cutting properties.

The head was made of crucible Industries LLC tool steel - CPM-Cruwear hardened to a hardness as high as 63-65 HRC. With excellent wear resistance and strength, CPM-Cruwear can be described as a steel with twice the performance of the original D2 steel. The new formula is enriched with vanadium, tungsten and molybdenum additives, which give the steel exceptional wear resistance and allow for high hardening rates. When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.

Durable coating, handy handle and nailer

The head is coated with flat Earth PVD coating (gas phase coating), which protects the blade from scratches, strengthens its hardness and provides additional protection against corrosion.

The handle is constructed using cF-Elite plastic. This nylon polymer has been reinforced with carbon fiber, making the knife handle light and rigid. Thanks to precision 3D machining, the handle not only has a modern design, but also an exquisite grip, which is achieved through the use of a rough texture and a profiled shape.

The Benchmade Shootout has a high-set clip (with the possibility of flipping it to the other side) for easy discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket and mounting on a belt or backpack. The knife has an additional rescue tool in the form of a carbide pin, which allows you to instantly break glass or deliver a painful blow.
