Benchmade Shootout - a lightweight and proven automatic knife
The Benchmade Shootout is a tactical-style knife accented by a tanto blade with a discreet black color scheme and a sage green handle. The knife uses an 89 mm blade with Tanto profile, distinguished by its tough tip, high resistance to breakage, and good cutting properties especially for planing, cord cutting, etc.
Benchmade Shootout knife - good materials and proven design
The latest tool steel was used for the construction of the blade Crucible Industries LLC - CPM-CruWear hardened to a hardness as high as 63-65 HRC. With excellent wear resistance and strength, CPM-CruWear can be described as a steel with twice the performance of the original D2 steel. The new formula is enriched with vanadium, tungsten and molybdenum additives, which give the steel exceptional wear resistance and allow for high hardening rates. When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The head is coated with dLC coating in black color, which protects the blade from scratches, strengthens its hardness and provides additional protection against corrosion.
Benchmade automatic knives - reliable OTF tactical knives
The Benchmade Shootout is a double Action OTF automatic knife. Which means that both the process of ejecting and retracting the blade is done automatically. Thanks to this functionality, the knife can be easily and quickly disassembled under stress also with a "weak hand". The blade is unfolded by moving the massive slider forward, folding only requires moving the slider back in the opposite direction.
The whole process is done in no time and, most importantly, in a very safe way, because after unfolding the wedge is it is locked in as many as 3 places. We also don't have to worry about accidentally unfolding the blade, it is only ejected when the slider is fully and consciously moved. The button has aggressive milling, so that the knife can also be operated with gloves.
Benchmade Shootout knife - plastic handle and clip
The handle is constructed using grivoy plastic - polyamide lightweight and resistant to mechanical damage. Thanks to precision 3D machining, the handle not only has a modern design, but also an exquisite grip, which is achieved through the use of a rough texture and a profiled shape.
The Benchmade Shootout has a high-set clip (with the possibility of flipping it to the other side) for easy discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket and mounting on a belt or backpack. The knife has an additional rescue tool in the form of a tungsten bolt, which allows you to instantly break glass or deliver a painful blow.
