The Benchmade Mini Crooked River Mallard is a folding nhunting knife from the limited Artist series, which features Rosewood-colored laminated wood facings, CPM-S30V powder-coated steel, and a blade with etched pheasant graphics by Casey Underwood.

The knife has a folding blade with a length of 86 mm, made of american CPM-S30V stainless steel. S30V powder steel by Crucible Industries hardens to optimum hardness 58-60 HRC, so it retains its edge for a long time, has adequate mechanical strength, and is also extremely resistant to corrosion. Such characteristics make the Benchmade Mini Crooked River Mallard will be the perfect companion for any hunter.

Thanks to its high vanadium carbide content, the steel is distinguished by its high impact strength and wear resistance, as well as its excellent cutting properties. Therefore, due to the high hardenings and the nature of CPM-S30V steel, we recommend using diamond whetstones for sharpening. When choosing a hard-steel knife, get a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be time-consuming and less efficient.

The slender flat-ground blade has a distinctly rounded belly, which, combined with the utilitarian profile of the clip-point provides excellent cutting performance and high resistance to damage. Benchmade Mini Crooked River Mallard is folding hunting knife for skinning, field work, and everyday use. Hard 2.9 mm thick blade makes the knife suitable not only for hunting purposes, but also for other outdoor applications such as bushcraft and survivalism.

The head can be instantly unfolded with one hand, using a double-sided pin. Thanks to the use of brass flange under the pivot and phosphor bronze shims the blade runs smoothly and dynamically. Limited Artist Series

The Benchmade Mini Crooked River Mallard belongs to the limited edition Artist series, which was created in collaboration with respected graphic designer and outdoor enthusiast Casey Underwood. The Artist Series consists of 4 Crooked River Mini models, beautifully decorated with etched graphics of moose, deer, duck and pheasant. Casey Underwood is an artist whose work focuses on nature and animals. Clear line, deep colors, realism of works and hatch lines are the main features that define the style of the American artist. Benchmade Mini Crooked River Mallard is decorated with intricate graphics of a mallard duck (on the headstock) and a forest landscape motif (on the bolsters).

Elegant and stylish handle

The element that is responsible for the comfort and unique style of the knife is, of course, its handle. The knife has aluminum fittings (bolsters) and stylish DymaLux stabilized wood facings. It is a laminate made of several layers of birch wood, which are stained and laminated together, and then saturated with resin (stabilized). The color scheme is alternating layers of brown and gray-green colors. This stunning combination wonderfully highlights the hunting style of the knife.

Stabilized wood during processing is soaked in resin, which provides better stability of the material, high hardness, resistance to water, changes in humidity and temperature, as well as the action of many solvents and acids. The skeleton of the knife is reinforced with steel spacers. To increase safety and comfort while using the knife, the linings are gently contoured to the hand. In the back of the handle there is a a hole for the line and a steel clip with the option to switch to the other side.
