Nessmuk's head is made of carbon steel with a thickness of 3.5 mm. The head has a scandinavian (zero) cut, thanks to which the knife combines very high strength, sharpness and high utility values. George Washington Sears (December 2, 1821. - may 1, 1890.) was a journalist for Forest and Stream magazine in the 1980s. XIX century. In their stories, published under the pseudonym "Nessmuk," popularized canoe trips in lightweight solo kayaks and what is now called ultralight camping. Nessmuk was the forerunner of what the terms bushcraft and outdoor now convey.
