Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) patented by the company Spyderco head locking mechanism. Extremely durable, provides extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the handle, it protects the knife from inadvertent closure. When releasing the lock, fingers are not in the path of the folding head.
