UK Penknife Cobalt Blue FRN, Satin Plain,, Spyderco has developed a British version of a folding knife after the UK banned folders with locking blades. Equipped with a mechanism Slip-Joint, an excellent tool for most cutting jobs, socially friendly and legal in most countries. Manufactured at the Spyderco factory in the USA (Golden, Colorado).
CPM SPY27 - a proprietary blend of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen and cobalt. Includes 1.4% carbon and 1% doped with niobium (Nb), one of the best carbides, which contributes to the steel's wear resistance. Thanks to its properties, the steel keeps its sharpness for a very long time and guarantees aggressive cuts for a long time. Easy to sharpen, corrosion resistant, contains 14% chrome. Provides good strength and cutting edge retention, as well as a fine-grained texture. This unique steel is produced at steel mills Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM).
SlipJoint - non-blocking mechanism used in folders. Uses spring-loaded pressure on the flat notch on the back of the blade to keep the blade open during use. Force is required to assemble the knife. SlipJoint holds the blade in both the folded and unfolded positions.
Head - thickness 2.5 mm in profile Leaf-Shaped (leaf shape). Plain blade Plain brought out full flat grind (Full Flat Grind). The flat grind guarantees a perfect cutting edge geometry with a sharp tip, reduces the weight of the knife and presents a beautiful satin finish. Round cutout SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) increased the support hump of the ramp, which positions the thumb directly over the opening making it easier to quickly open the blade with cold or wet hands. Notched supports: thumb ramp (spine jimping) and (finger choil jimping), the undercut for the index finger between the handle and the cutting edge make it easier to control the knife.
Handle - profiled, covered with non-slip textured facings in the color of dark blue (Cobalt Blue). Facings made of moled plastic FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), glass fiber reinforced nylon.
