Spyderco Stovepipe Titanium CPM 20CV Plain knife (C260TIP)
- Stovepipe Titanium CPM 20CV is a powerful industrial design by David Rydbom for Spyderco. The finest materials and impeccable workmanship combine with the knife's absolutely unique lines. An absolute "must have" for any fan of Spiders!!!
Stovepipe Titanium CPM 20CV is designed by David Rydbom renowned knifemaker's strong knife with blade profile Wharncliffe. Sophisticated ergonomics complement the natural curves of the hand for maximum surface contact and superior control. Industrial design meets the best materials and technical solutions here, such as interlocking RIL,titanium handle and steel CPM 20CV.
CPM S20CV - One of the world's best tool steels, American premium martensitic stainless steel. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries in accordance with the process Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM). Process CPM yields a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Designed to provide better wear resistance while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. This super steel is comparable to Bohler's M390 or Carpenter's CTS-204P steel. According to some knife manufacturers, 20CV is the best of the three steels in terms of edge retention. It consists of 19.0% coal, 20.0% chromium, 4.0% vanadium, 1.0% molybdenum and 0.6% tungsten. A high percentage of chromium with a touch of molybdenum makes the 20CV is one of the best high-grade corrosion-resistant steels.
Reeve Integral-Lock - (R.I.L.) reinforced, monolithic locking mechanism of the wedge type Frame-Lock. One of the facings acts as a locking mechanism.
Head - about the profile Warncliff, thicknessand 4.0 mm. Plain blade Plain derived concave cut (Hollow Grind). A straight cutting edge with a concave blade provides exceptional cutting performance, transferring power to the the stab of the blade and provides better spot strength. Enlarged 14 mm round cutout SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) allows easy opening of the blade with a glove as well as wet, sweaty hands. All finished with Stonewash, a method that fits well with the design of the knife.
Handle - solid titanium, anatomically profiled for a more secure grip. Enlarged pivot screw at the same time serves as a stop that does not allow the locking leaf to swing too far out of position. Solid titanium single-position clip (right), allowing the knife to be carried in tip-up (tip up) position. The whole, as well as the blade finished with a Stonewash, highlighting the industrial roots of the project.
