Made from steel produced at a Japanese foundry Myodo Foundry, high-chromium, low-carbon (rolled without heat treatment) stainless steel H-1 hardness 57-58 HRC. Contains 14-16% chromium, 0.15% carbon, 3-4.5% silicon and 1% nitrogen. The knife can stay in the water, also marine, does not rust even when will remain moist after use. The result was achieved by adding chromium and nickel to the steel, and replacing some of the carbon with nitrogen. Whe internal parts of the steel have undergone a special treatment, making them resistant to rust and salt.
