Now with superior steel CPM S35VN!!!
CPM S35VN - U.S. martensitic stainless steel designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is made up of 0.5% niobium carbides along with 3.0% vanadium and 14.0% chromium carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes it about 15-20% harder than S30V without losing wear resistance. It is also easier to process and polish. Improved strength of CPM S35VN provides better resistance to edge chipping. The CPM process yields very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Manufactured at Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) mills.
Head - of the shape Drop Point and thickness 3.1 mm provides excellent cutting edge geometry with low friction. The cutting edge was derived full flat grind (Full Flat Grind). Plain blade type Plain extends along the entire length of the blade, allowing powerful cuts with the heel of the blade. Enlarged 14 mm round cutout SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) makes it easy to open the blade, even with a glove. Notched section of the back of the head, ramp (spine jimping) positions the thumb, gives solid support, facilitates efficient knife handling.
Skeleton - reinforced with two stainless steel plates, along with the sheaths, provide great structural strength with the knife's light weight, while also forming the basis of the blade's locking mechanism Liner-Lock, by Michael Walker with jimped liner. The whole thing was screwed together with screws torx. Phosphor bronze washers ensure trouble-free smooth opening and closing of the pocket knife.
Handle - textured in both directions non-slip facings (Bi-Directional Texturing) strengthen the grip. Made of plastic FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), fiberglass reinforced nylon in color dark blue. Solid metal screw-on hourglass clip with four-way clip positions (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. In the back of the handle lanyard hole, hole for pulling the security cable.
