Native 5 FRN CPM SPY27 Plain, the fifth generation of the iconic folder Native, one of the best E.D.C. Spyderco has long been considered a leader in the use of exotic, high-performance for knives. After years of using the best materials that leading steelmakers could provide, the company decided to create its own alloy.

Cladding in elite color Cobalt-Blue reserved for Spyderco knives with steel wedge CPM S110V. Manufactured at the Spyderco factory in the USA (Golden, Colorado).

CPM S110V - high-alloy powdered premium stainless steel with a hardness of 58-61 HRC, contains a high content of 2.8% carbon and a significant admixture of vanadium carbides. Top-quality tool steel, specially developed for exceptional resistance to wear / abrasion and increased corrosion resistance. Exceptionally fine microstructure guarantees optimum machinability, so the steel holds sharpness for a very long time and guarantees aggressive cutting for a long time, qualities highly desirable of any blade. Manufactured in steel mills Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM).

Head - of profile Leaf-Shaped (leaf shape) provides a long, gently curved cutting edge. Plain blade Plain derived ground full flat (Full Flat Grind). Enlarged 14 mm cutout SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) for ambidextrous thumb opening. Corrugated thumb rest ramp (thumb ramp jimping) on the back of the wedge and the ForeFinger Choil (an undercut for the index finger between the handle and the cutting edge) make it easier to operate the knife. Refined, precision-machined head locking mechanism Back-Lock guarantees the pinnacle of precision and improved smoothness of operation.

Handle - molded, non-slip textured facings in color dark blue provide a secure grip. Made of durable, heat- and cold-resistant, chemical-resistant plastic G-10. Metal clip made of polished steel with four-way clip positions (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. In the rear part, an enlarged opening for the cable.

Skeleton - reinforced with two steel plates. The covers are attached to a spacer (known as a backspacer / handle liner connector) made of stainless steel, which ensures the strength of the structure. The whole thing was screwed together with screws torx, for easy folding / unfolding of the folder.
