CPM S30V - one of the best knife steel, corrosion resistant, resistant to mechanical stress American martensitic powder steel CPM S30V with added carbon, chromium and vanadium with a hardness of 58-59 HRC. Developed by Dick Barber z Crucible Industries in cooperation with knife maker Chris Reeve, so as to offer the best combination of strength, abrasion and corrosion resistance. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries in accordance with the process Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM). Process CPM yields a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The alloy includes 1.45% carbon (C) and a significant admixture of vanadium carbides 4.0% (V) and chromium 10.5% (Cr). Thanks to its properties, it holds sharpness for a very long time and provides high corrosion resistance.

Head - thickness 3.2 mm of profile Leaf-Shaped. Plain blade Plain brought out full flat grind (Full Flat Grind). Flat grinding provides excellent cutting edge geometry with a sharp tip and has reduced the weight of the knife. Enlarged 14 mm round cutout SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) allows the knife to be opened even with a glove. Prominent Finger Choil, arched undercut for index finger and notched thumb ramp on the back of the blade make it easier to control the knife.
Handle - bolted to liners of stainless steel 420J2, textured facings in black. Extending beyond the grip covers liners form notches on the backs of the handles, known as "Spine Jimping. Spine Jimping for improved and comfortable grip. Made of durable, heat- and chemical-resistant plastic G-10.
