ARK H-1 Plain - an ARK ( A lways R eady Knife) knife specially designed for personal defense (Personal Defense Knife) by US Army war veteran John Shirley . This light and extremely flat knife with a fixed blade with a full tang design is made of innovative H-1 steel , completely resistant to moisture and rust .
While deployed to Afghanistan, Shirley learned of the large number of American personnel who had been sexually assaulted, mostly while bathing. Using his knowledge of martial arts, he designed an extremely effective Neck Knife intended for self-defense. Compact dimensions, low weight and a flat sheath designed to be hung around the neck allow you to always have it with you!
Blade - 2 mm thick with an aggressive, deeply curved Clip Point profile. The curved cutting edge has impressive cutting efficiency despite the compact size of the blade. Made of high-chrome, low-carbon H-1 stainless steel produced in the Japanese Myodo Foundry, with a hardness of 57-58 HRC, containing 0.15% carbon and 0.1% nitrogen. The Plain type smooth blade has a low concave grind (Hollow grind). There is a thumb ramp on the back enabling safe control of the knife .
Handle - covered with non-slip surfaces textured in two directions ( Bi-Directional Texturing ), strengthening the grip even when hands are wet. Made of FRN plastic ( Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon ), glass fiber reinforced nylon . At the back of the handle there is an enlarged hole ( lanyard hole ) for pulling a leash or safety rope.
Sheath - made of Kydex material , protects the knife against falling out. The set includes a ball chain that allows you to hang the sheath with the knife around your neck.
