CPM S35VN - American martensitic high-alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best blade steels. Designed to provide better durability compared to the CPM S30V, while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries by particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM). Process CPM forms a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is made up of niobium carbides 0.5% (Nb) along with vanadium carbides 3.0% (V) and chromium 14.0% (Cr). Replacing some niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes the steel about 15-20% tougher than S30V without sacrificing wear resistance, it is also easier to machine and polish. Improved durability CPM S35VN also provides better resistance to edge chipping.
Head - with a wide curved profile Leaf Shaped (leaf shape), thickness 3.0 mm provides excellent cutting edge geometry with low friction. The cutting edge was brought out with a ground full flat (Full Flat Grind). Plain blade Plain extends along the entire length of the blade, allowing powerful cuts. The blade is made of CPM S35VN stainless steel with an elegant finish Satin. Careful placement on the head of the enlarged 14 mm circular cutout SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) positions the hand to intuitively open the blade and simultaneously increases the hump of the thumb rest spine jimping. Locking head lock Liner-Lock, by Michael Walker with jimped liner.
Handle - profiled in blue. Bi-Directional textured non-slip facings Bi-Directional Texturing strengthen the grip, even with wet hands. Made of plastic FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), glass fiber reinforced nylon. Metal hourglass clip with four-way clip positions (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. In the back of the handle lanyard hole, cable hole.
