This is a unique light source that does not need batteries or fire. It is very lightweight and efficient.

Chemical lights can be used to mark your position during a night hike, to illuminate your immediate surroundings, as an emergency signal, or as an emergency light source.

To start the glowing process, bend the stick with the thumbs of both hands until the inner vial breaks, then shake it. What follows is a combination of chemicals that, using the phenomenon of luminescence, produce light of a certain color, depending on the dye. This phenomenon is unique in that no heat is generated during the entire process.

The process of luminescence in chemical lights can be slowed down by placing the lightstick in the freezer.
