The compass is equipped with an instrument that measures the slope of the terrain and a lanyard with a graduation/ scale. It is ideal for determining the slope-related difficulty of a route and for detecting avalanche risk. Knowing the slope of the terrain, you can estimate the additional distance to be traveled due to differences in elevation.

The lanyard has two scales - 1:25 and 1:50, which makes it easy to measure, and because it's soft and flexible you'll fit it perfectly to your path (by applying the lanyard directly to the map).

The Expredition Global has a convenient DryFlex handle, a clinometer for measuring tilt angle, and a built-in magnetic declination controller so you can correct it on the fly.

The compass has up to 4 map scales: 1:25k, 1:40k, 1:50k and GPS scale. Allows reading in millimeters or inches.

Convenient navigation is due to the simple, popular font in black printed on the transparent compass stand. Phosphorescent elements (min graduated circle) make it easier to navigate at night.

Red and black lines marking north (printed on the bottom of the base) help orient the compass quickly and easily.

The needle is made of the best Swedish steel with very good magnetic properties.
