Opinel Carbon 8 knife
Knives made by Opinel are classics among pocket knives. These classic and extremely lightweight knives from the French company Opinel, have been in production for over 100 years.
A distinctive feature of Opinel Carbon pocketknives are the thin blades with a flat grind made of carbon steel, characterized by easy sharpening and long holding of focus. Carbon steel knives gain in hardness (sharpness) but require a bit more care. The blade should be dried after use and preferably wiped with olive oil so that the blade is protected from rust attack.
The handle of the knife is made of hard beech wood is superbly contoured and provides a firm, pleasant grip. Opinel knives have a distinctive blade lock in the form of a rotating ring, patented in 1955 under the name of the virobloc.
This knife is an excellent item for people who value tradition, functionality and simplicity. This is an excellent idea for an inexpensive, original gift.
