Nordic Knife Design - Visent 100 head
Nordic Knife Design - Visent 100 head
After leaving as co-owner of Bris, Dennis Holmbacka founded Nordic Knife Design. Founded by a knife industry veteran as a designer and trader, NKD may be a new name, but behind it lies decades of experience. NKD knives are often minimalist in detail and have an elegant design, features that many would call traditional Scandinavian design. Form follows function. NKD uses the best factories used by many other top brands. With these blades, there is no question of quality issues.
Visent 100 is made of stainless steel Sandvik 14C28N head with a raised grind of the scandi type. Sandvik 14C28N is an improvement on 12C27 steel, used by many manufacturers around the world. The 14C28N steel from which Visent is made has a low carbon content (about 0.6%), but a higher level of blade hardness is achieved thanks to the addition of nitrogen. Nitrogen addition also improves steel's corrosion resistance and edge retention.
Head dedicated to forestry knives
NKD Visent was developed specifically for bushcraft and hunting. The blade of the knife is thicker than a typical puukko, allowing you to shred branches in addition to other standard work in the tact of camping. The weight of the handle has been reduced thanks to the large cutout, so the ready-to-use knife will be well balanced and ideal for use in the woods.
The head has mounting holes to fit Corby type screws (4.6 mm) or ordinary metal rods, and a hole for a cable tube.
