Nordic Knife Design - Korpi 90 Head
Nordic Knife Design - Korpi 90 Head
After leaving as co-owner of Bris, Dennis Holmbacka founded Nordic Knife Design. Founded by a knife industry veteran as a designer and trader, NKD may be a new name, but behind it lies decades of experience. NKD knives are often minimalist in detail and have an elegant design, features that many would call traditional Scandinavian design. Form follows function. NKD uses the best factories used by many other top brands. With these blades, there is no question of quality issues.
Korpi 90 made of popular stainless steel 14C28N, is probably one of the first full tang blades among the wide range of pukko knives. Korpi retains the shape typical of Finnish puuko and at the same time gains tremendous strength due to the use of full tang construction.
This blade has the profile of the original Tommi Puukko and can be easily bound with wooden covers connected by Corby screws. If you're looking for a challenge, instead, take advantage of the pin holes that allow you to get a more sophisticated version with covers connected by brass pins. The Tommi knife is one of the most famous Finnish puukko models, developed in the Kainuu region of eastern Finland around 1860.
The head has mounting holes that fit Corby type screws (4.6 mm) or ordinary metal rods.
