Nikwax SoftShell Proof™ is safe for use with breathable softshell clothing. It is water-based, non-flammable, and does not contain volatile organic compounds (VOC compounds) or fluorocarbons. Nikwax SoftShell Proof™ is specifically designed and optimized for breathable softshell garments: it provides durable water repellency (DWR) while maintaining breathability.
Nikwax SoftShell Proof™ Wash-In is quick and easy to apply when machine washed, and its unique water repellent (DWR) properties are activated when air dried. Applying the agent while washing in the washing machine ensures that the agent will pass through the garment, reach the seams, ribbons, as well as the fabric. Nikwax SoftShell Proof™ Wash-In is specially designed and optimized for softshell garments; it leaves a flexible water repellent layer on individual fibers, allowing moisture vapor to pass through while maintaining breathability.
To preserve the waterproof properties of the garment, it should be washed before waterproofing, such as in Tech Wash.
