Kauhava is a region in Finland that has a very long tradition in the production of handmade knives. Knifemakers from Kauhava have been making traditional knives (puukko) and handmade leather scabbards for hundreds of years.
Kauhava 77 knife has a durable carbon steel blade with a thickness of 3.3 mm and a length of 75 mm. Scandinavian carbon steel blade is characterized by high hardness (58-59 stp. HRC), sharpness and resistance to dulling. Kauhava knife holds sharpness for a long time. The blade of the knife has a scandinavian cut, making it perfect for even the the most demanding works.
The handle on the Kauhava knife is made of traditional, high quality materials: karelian birch and reindeer antlers. In addition, the handle enriched with fiber and brass spacers. The handle has a traditionally rivetedriveted at the end, thanks to which the knife is very durable. The handle is very finely finished with the attention to detail typical of handmade knives. Handle impregnated with natural linseed oil.
The handle of the Kauhava knife is perfectly contoured. Thanks to the traditional shape the knife fits perfectly in the hand, and working with the knife (even for a very long time) is not cumbersome.
