The Fenix BC21R is an extremely compact and lightweight bicycle flashlight, whose properties will be appreciated by every cyclist. The flashlight generates a wide beam of light with power 1200 lumens, and is powered by a capacious 18650 battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh. The BCR21R has a USB-C fast charging port, so you'll charge it in a really short time. In addition, it has a single and convenient button that will allow you to operate the flashlight while driving. The quick release mechanism of the flashlight saves time, depriving us of the need to painstakingly dismantle the mounting mechanisms.
Flashlight design is made of anodized aluminum, so that the heat generated by the diode is effectively dissipated. An additional advantage of the material used is that it is resistant to immersion in water up to a depth of 2m, a fall from a height of 1.5m and the penetration of dust and dirt. Thus obtained iP68 rating, which is a guarantee that the flashlight will perform well in harsh conditions, no matter during which activities you use it.
The flashlight is compact and weighs only 157g including the battery, so it's not a problem to carry around, and it's also great for use as a handheld flashlight. Special adapter ALD-08 (not included) allows you to mount the flashlight on a bicycle helmet transforming it into a headlamp. Included in the kit silicone adapters allow you to adjust the clamp to the diameter of your handlebars in terms of 28 to 35mm and angle adjustment up to 15°. The bike mount has a function to quickly detach the flashlight from the handlebars. To do this, all you have to do is press the locking lever and slide the lamp out of the clamp
The BCR21R uses a light-generating, neutral-colored light luminus SST40 LED with a power of up to 1200 lumens. Neutral light faithfully reproduces colors and allows you to see more details in nighttime conditions. The advantage of neutral light is also that it does not tire the eyes.
Luminus LED with a power of 1200 lumens allows you to illuminate the road ahead up to 142 meters, which is a result quite sufficient for cycling.
Wide light output provides a comfortable field of vision, and effectively illuminates curves.
The main power source for the flashlight is 18650 battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh. A fully charged battery provides almost 10 hours (600 lumen mode), or up to 132 minutes (1200 lumen turbo mode). To charge the flashlight, we do not need additional chargers, because charging the battery is done by built-in USB-C fast charging port. Thanks to the high with a charging current of 2A it is possible to fully charge the battery in just 2 hours. While charging the flashlight, we can also use it (low and medium mode only), but it will increase the battery charging time. LED indicator in the button, simply and clearly informs us about the level of battery charge.
Status of the battery level indicator:
- red flashing diode: critical level 1-25%
- red LED: low level 25-50%
- green flashing LED: medium level 50-85%
- green LED: high level 85-100%
An additional and very useful feature of the flashlight is the memory of the last used brightness level (memory mode). When you turn the flashlight off and on again, it starts up in the mode you last used. Flashing battery level indicator light is a low battery warning. The flashlight is equipped with overheating protection (turbo mode). The controller lowers the temperature by reducing the brightness by a few lumens, allowing the maximum mode to be restarted.
Fenix BC21R V3.0 offers 4 continuous light modes: low→medium→high→turbo and a flash light with 400 lumens output. A single metal button is used to turn on/off and change brightness, which also activates the battery level indicator. Simple and intuitive operation is an undoubted advantage of the bicycle flashlight, especially in urban areas with heavy traffic.
