Puukko knife Eräpuu 95 Birch Bark has a handle made of birch bark flakes, a traditional (next to Karelian birch wood) material used for generations by Finnish knife makers. Birch bark provides the knife with natural moisture resistance, no special impregnation required. The bark handle grips perfectly even when wet, is lightweight, very comfortable and convenient for long knife work.
The knife has a durable carbon steel blade with a thickness of 3.3 mm and a length of 95 mm. In addition, the blade has been hammered which increases the attractiveness and gives the knife a unique character. Scandinavian carbon steel blade is characterized by high hardness (58-59 stp. HRC), sharpness and resistance to dulling. Knife Eräpuu holds focus for a long time. The blade of the knife has a scandinavian cut, making it perfect for even the the most demanding works.
The knife has hardware made of thick brass plate, and the knife's shank goes all the way through the handle and is forged on the head, adding to its strength.
Included with the knife we receive handmade, beautiful, traditional leather scabbard. The scabbard perfectly holds and secures the knife and is ideal for both belt and neck carry.

Sharpening and maintenance. Don't make the tool too dull. Sharpen your knife on dedicated whetstones and sharpeners. Your tool should be cleaned, dried and oiled regularly. Especially after use in humid environments.
