The head of the Condor Tool & Knife Valhalla Battle Axe is made of forged 1060 high carbon steel, which is heat-treated and annealed to a hardness of about 50-55 on the Rockwell scale. The natural finish has the appearance of bare metal, which has the look of a well-worn pair of jeans. This finish is an improved hand-forging process and gives a classic and improved look to an already well-made tool.
Craftsmen at Condor use hand-powered equipment to achieve this traditional design to give it the appearance of having been hand-forged over 200 years ago. The burnt American hickory handle is strong and gives the axe an ancient look combined with the Viking design. The included scabbard is made of high quality, durable, handmade brown leather.
