Jim O'Young - after a 20-year career as a mechanical design engineer in the electronics industry in Silicon Valley, Jim began to pursue his passions: sport shooting and the design and manufacture of innovative small arms and knives. Jim applied his knowledge and experience to the project SpeedTech Synergy using SolidWorks, a state-of-the-art tool CAD for three-dimensional solid modeling. It was the first knife created using this technology and featured several design elements never before used in a serial folder: an ergonomic, fully three-dimensional digitally sculpted handle surface made from a single solid block of material, a floating bearing system, and a button lock with enhanced interlocking geometry. Synergy was ahead of its time and was awarded the title of Most Innovative American Designn at the Blade Show in 1999.

Nitro-V - new chrome-based martensitic stainless knife steel introduced by New Jersey Steel Baron (NJSB). The manufacturer used the existing superior AEB-L knife steel and upgraded it with nitrogen and vanadium to improve edge performance and achieve high hardness and extreme corrosion resistance, especially crucial in the marine industry and humid environments. Nitro V can be used in diving knives due to its resistance to staining and corrosion. The recommended working hardness is in the range of 58-62HRC, compared to other steels it has very good impact strength. It is harder than stainless powder steels such as M390, Elmax and S35VN. Therefore, Nitro-V will be a good fit for knives that require good durability.

Head - type drop point, finished with scratch-masking Black Stonewashed. Handle - facings of black G10, fiberglass pressed under pressure with resin, with a beautiful pattern of concentrically spreading circles.
