Crucible Industries LLC's latest tool steel CPM-Cruwear hardened to a hardness as high as 63-65 HRC. With excellent wear resistance and strength, CPM-Cruwear can be described as a steel with twice the performance of the original D2 steel. The new formula is enriched with vanadium, tungsten and molybdenum additives, which give the steel exceptional wear resistance and allow high hardening. When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.

Benchmade 15600OR Raghorn - hunting skinning knives

The blade is coated with orange Cerakote paint, which provides additional protection against corrosion and makes it easier to clean the blade from the sweat. The wide blade with a full flat grind has a distinctively rounded belly, which, combined with the utilitarian drop point profile, provides excellent cutting performance and high durability against damage. Cross-milling has been made on the back and front of the back to create a stable point of support for the fingers. This simple convenience allows the knife to be handled comfortably and accurately, which for the hunter is crucial when gutting game.

Thanks to technology SelectEdge 28° (14° per side) the knife has a thin, perfectly sharp cutting edge that perfectly handles skinning and dehorning of harvested game. Raghorn guarantees extremely clean and precise cutting, which makes game processing much easier and takes less time. To reduce the weight of the knife, lightweight carbon fiber, valued for its mechanical strength, weather resistance and elegant style, was used for the linings. A stable grip on the knife is guaranteed by the profiled shape of the handle and the ribbing of the dorsal part of the shank. There is a hole in the back of the shank that allows for the insertion of a cord, lanyard or thong.

For safe carrying of the knife there is a boltaron sheath, thermoplastic material with high resistance to damage, temperature and moisture. The case is compatible with the TekLok mount. Heat-molded sheath keeps the knife stable and protects it from being lost. The bright orange color scheme makes it easier to find a knife left in the midst of grass or undergrowth and increases our visibility during a harvest hunt.
