Premium stainless steel in Benchmade 743 Narrows knife
The 76 mm long blade is made of CPM-S20V powder steel hardened to a hardness of 59-61 HRC. CPM-S20V is an American "super steel" whose parameters correspond to Bohler's elite M390 stainless steel.
Thanks to the high chromium content and the large amount of vanadium carbides the blade is characterized by exceptionally good resistance to corrosion and wear, and very long retention of sharpness.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The blade has a Stonewash polish finish (abrasive stone bath). The process perfectly masks any scratches and abrasions from use.
Benchmade knife with AXIS Lock - guaranteed safe operation
The blade can be conveniently unfolded with one hand, thanks to a double-sided peg, allowing right- and left-handed people to operate the knife comfortably. The head lock is of course AXIS-lock, benchmade's flagship mechanism, valued for its immense load resistance, insensitivity to dirt and ease of use.
This locking model uses new locking pins and torsion springs that have greater reliability.
