154CM steel head
The 580 represents Benchmade's blue class of folding knives. The wedge type "drop-point" having flat grind is made of 154CM steel and hardened to a value of (58-61HRC). The overall length of the blade is 91 mm, while thickness is 3 mm. The blade is equipped with double-sided pin, which is used to open and unfold the knife.
Valox plastic handle
The handle facings are made of a thermoplastic material called Valox, which are additionally reinforced with steel liners made of 420J steel.
The handle has profiled notches, which increase safety and ergonomics when using the knife.
The knife comes with a convertible clip.
Axis Lock
The lock used is the well-liked "axis lock", which has been improved by equipping it with an additional quick-opening assist spring. The mechanism ensures safety during use of the knife, as well as its handling by locking the handle securely. The lock can be operated by right and left-handed people.
