Benchmade 185BK-1 SOCP is a large tactical knife with a fixed head designed as a combat tool for soldiers special operations and users looking for uncompromising solutions.

The Benchmade 185BK-1 SOCP tactical knife was developed in collaboration with Greg Thompson the creator of the Special Operations Combat Program (SOCP). The slender blade of the bayonet is made of made of hard CPM-3V tool steel, superior in strength to most steels used in factory knife production. Powdered CPM-3V steel is hardened to a hardness of 60-62 HRC, it is also characterized by tremendous load resistance, resistance to wear, cracking and chipping. The performance of this steel is similar to S7 and A9 premium steel, CPM-3V, it is also a great alternative to A2, D2 and CPM M4. Utility CPM 3V steel is not stainless steel, so it is worthwhile to properly maintain the blade during use. When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.

The Benchmade SOCP bayonet features a full-tang (solid mandrel), which means it is made from a single piece of steel. Knives of such construction are extremely resistant to damage and are not afraid of hard work, which is why they are used as combat, survival and hunting knives. The dagger profile head is 180 mm long and 3.8 mm thick, so the bayonet can be used in extreme conditions without worrying about damaging it. Dagger the blade has a cutting edge on both sides and a strong stab, which facilitates penetration and provides excellent cutting properties. The head has a hard-wearing Cobalt Black protective coating that protects against corrosion and prevents glare.

The knife has a contoured handle of skeletal construction with an exposed bolt that can be used to deliver blows. Injection-molded polymer facings, attached to the stem with 3 steel screws. Fine texturing provides a great grip on the knife and prevents it from slipping out of the blade. The set includes kydex sheath, which can be attached to the belt or to the equipment. A metal drive clasp protects the bayonet from slipping out or being lost.
