I see darkness - bushcraft head flashlights

Although the most makeshift tools should be used during bushcraft, it is not worth putting principles above safety. Always take emergency equipment that will allow you to work at night or call for help when the situation requires it.

One such product that should be in your backpack is head flashlights and interchangeable power supply for them. Of course, bushcrafters according to some should use a torch or at most a kerosene lamp, but such a hike can cause a fire. Remember that nature should be respected and approached with respect and responsibility.

Equipment for real gadget lovers

Most of us love technology and the ever-interesting possibilities offered by accessories. We buy expensive toys whose potential we won't use anyway, but this makes survival and bushcraft expeditions even more fun. An excellent example is fenix HL60R LED flashlight.

Among its impressive parameters, we can mention a maximum operating time of up to 100 hours on EKO mode and a range of 116 meters in turbo mode. The HL60R head flashlight has 6 programs - 5 white light modes and a Red Light mode. It is worth mentioning that you don't have to worry about water or damage, as the certificates confirm resistance to impact from a height of 1 meter and immersion to a depth of 2 m (for one hour). In reality, the possibilities are much greater.

The HL60R has a built-in rechargeable battery that can be charged via a power outlet or USB connection on a computer. What if the batteries go flat? Then to the rescue comes the possibility of installing a CR123A battery or an interchangeable 18650 size battery. If you are a fan of technological innovation, you will certainly be familiar with the impressive capacities of these cells, so many hours of work will keep you safe. As you can see, head flashlights for gadgeteers offer the impossible. The cost of the HL60R model is £279. However, it is worth bearing in mind that this is a one-time purchase for years to come!

Fenix HL23 headlamp - is it inferior?

The price of the Fenix HL23 is 129 zlotys, which is about 150 zlotys less than the previous model we presented in the previous paragraph. Does this mean that it will be less effective? Calm! For bushcraft applications, the following will suffice!

When you buy you get 3 programs - high, medium and economy. Selecting the last mode, the flashlight will shine with a light output of 3 lumens. The manufacturer gives us information that the batteries will then last about 100 hours. However, it is powered by AA cells, so the length of illumination depends mainly on their capacity and quality. The range is about 50 meters in the strongest adjustment.

Fenix HL23 headlamp flashlight was manufactured by the same company as the previously described HL60R model. So you can rest assured that high precision workmanship and the best materials are used. As with its more expensive brother, customers get shock resistance (up to 1m) and water resistance (up to 2m).

Is it worth it?

Of course it does! If you have a limited budget or simply don't feel the need to invest in products that the army can easily use, the cheaper HL23 model will certainly meet your expectations. Nevertheless, it is nice to know that your equipment is the best in terms of capabilities.
